Blog Review

 Hi everyone! 

In this entry, I will be posting about the analysis of the assigned Restaurant reviews to me. I was assigned to two reviews, the first being a written review by Lisa Markwell titled "Old Tom & English, restaurant review: Soho's latest white-hot spot bucks the no-reservations trend in exclusive style." the second being a video review by Amy Castle about Tender Greens. 

Markwell's style of reviewing was very frank and casual, but on the other hand, that made me confused. I'm sure many readers prefer casual writing to formal writing, but in her review, she adds her movements and other sounds, which I found unnecessary.  In addition, since it is a food review, I thought Markwell should've focused more on the food than its interior design and history. There were no photos of the restaurant, its interior (even though she focused on it), and its food. Personally, I prefer having visuals so I can further recognize what kind of a restaurant it is. But since her review doesn't have one, it was very difficult. 

If I were to give her points, I think it would be 5 out of 10.

The next food review I was assigned to was Amy Castle's Tender Greens food review. This review was in a video, which was very easy to see. She introduced the restaurant's history and menu, which was very helpful since I knew nothing about the restaurant. Since it was in the video, I was able to look at how the restaurant's food was served, and I was also able to feel the restaurant's atmosphere. 

Her video includes an introduction to the restaurant, a taste test, and a summary of her opinion. 

Overall, I loved her review style. It was very casual, and her opinion was not biased. She included the menu in her video, so I could grasp whether the restaurant was pricey. 

I think her review is a 9 out of 10
